(Danville, PA) – Service 1st Federal Credit Union in partnership with CSIU Work Foundations+ has announced that the Financial Services & You Seminar, aimed to educate individuals with disabilities, their families, friends and caretakers, will be held at CSIU, located at 911 Greenough Street, Sunbury on Wednesday, October 15 beginning at 9:30 am. 

The seminar is presented by Service 1st Federal Credit Union in cooperation with CSIU Work Foundations+ and will feature expert panelists in the areas of finance, education and human services assisting people with physical and developmental disabilities.

It will be facilitated by Sarah Haines, Service 1st. In 2023, she was named CrossState Credit Union Association’s Credit Union Ambassador, for her efforts to highlight financial information specifically for the special needs community.

Haines is the mother of two young boys with disabilities, and she had often worried about how to best prepare for their financial futures.

“As a member of the Service 1st team for the past four years, I’ve seen so many families like mine that don’t know how our services and products could help them,” Haines said. “I wanted to find a way to change that and give these families the direction they need.”

The panel will include representatives from Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSIU), Community Resource Hub, Service 1st Federal Credit Union, SUNCOM Industries, Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, Pennsylvania Treasury and YES to the Future (CSIU).
