(Danville, PA) – Service 1st Federal Credit Union held its 32nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, August 28, at Frosty Valley Resort in Danville. During the tournament, Service 1st presented two local charities with donations totaling $68,000!
“For more than three decades, this tournament has allowed Service 1st to turn an enjoyable day of golf into lasting support for our communities,” said Mike Thomas, President/CEO, Service 1st. “We are honored to continue that tradition and grateful for the incredible support that makes this event a success year after year.”
Beneficiaries of the 32nd Annual Service 1st Charity Golf Tournament included For the Cause NEPA, located in Berwick, and the Bloomsburg Salvation Army Service Center, located in Bloomsburg.
For the Cause NEPA is a Teen Center designed to be a safe, fun space for teenagers to be themselves and explore new interests. It’s a place where teens can get help with issues they may be having, whether it’s schoolwork or personal challenges. Workshops provide opportunities to expand horizons and discover new interests, and community service projects connect teens to causes and introduce them to the rewarding experience of helping others. By addressing the whole person – physically, emotionally and spiritually – The Salvation Army in Bloomsburg offers hope and creates change.
“The success of this year’s charity golf event reflects the dedication and generosity of everyone involved,” said Tom Rambo, Vice President of Lending at Service 1st and Chair of the Service 1st Golf Committee. “Giving back to our communities is at the heart of what we do, and we are proud to present the proceeds from this year’s charity golf event to For the Cause NEPA and the Bloomsburg Salvation Army Service Center. The tremendous support from our sponsors, golfers, volunteers and committee members highlights what can be accomplished when people come together to make a difference.”
This year’s tournament included over 160 golfers and volunteers.
