Service 1st Annual Charity Duck Derby Winners Announced!
8/2/2025(Danville, PA) Service 1st Federal Credit Union held their Annual Charity Duck Derby Saturday, August 2, 2025 raising $20,000 to benefit two local organizations!
A large crowd turned out to join Service 1st and cheer for the rubber duckies as they raced down the Susquehanna River toward the finish line located shortly after the Danville/Riverside Bridge.
“The turnout for this year’s Duck Derby was incredible,” said Mike Thomas, President/CEO, Service 1st. “It’s heartwarming to see our community come together for such a great cause.”
Over 4,900 tickets sponsoring the ducks in the race were sold for this year’s event; a new record for the fundraiser.
“From the beginning of the promotion for the Charity Duck Derby in March, through the actual event today, I am proud of the team we have at Service 1st,” said Michael Howe, Facilities & Maintenance Specialist, Service 1st, who as the “Duck Commander” led the credit union’s Duck Derby Committee and planned the event. “I am inspired by the overwhelming support from the community for this annual event, to help generate financial backing for two worthwhile charities. Thank you to all involved!”
Service 1st congratulates all 2025 Duck Derby winners and shares a special thank you to everyone who purchased tickets and volunteered for the event.
2025 Duck Derby winners include: 1st place (Ticket #2704) James English, $500; 2nd place (Ticket #3746) Tommy Huynh, $100; 3rd place (Ticket #742) Jason Deater, $100; 4th place (Ticket #3280) Tracy Hart, $100; 5th place (Ticket #1350) Beth Hendrickson, $100; and the last place finisher will also receive a special prize (Ticket #863) Alex Bock. A member of the Service 1st Duck Derby Committee will be reaching out to each of the winners.
In addition to the race, attendees enjoyed balloons, children’s activities and refreshments including free pizza.
Funds raised by this year’s Duck Derby will be combined with those raised during Service 1st’s 31st Annual Charity Golf Tournament being held on Friday, August 22 to benefit Camp Koala, Mifflinburg, and Hunter’s Heart & Hustle Foundation, Watsontown.
