Last month, the United States Department of the Treasury and the IRS began mailing out nearly 4 million Economic Impact Payments (EIPs) on prepaid debit cards, instead of paper checks. These cards can be used to make purchases, get cash from in-network ATMs, and transfer funds to a personal credit union or bank account without incurring fees.
