(Danville, PA) – As a reminder to Service 1st Federal Credit Union Members, as well as anyone who uses the credit union’s ATMs and ITMs, debit cards must have functioning EMV Chips to complete transactions.

EMV chipped cards are more secure than magnetic stripe only cards. It’s designed to limit fraud by using embedded computer chips on credit and debit cards. Many financial institutions have moved to this technology over the last several years, but there are still some that have not.

“Keeping information secure for our members and all users of our ATMs and ITMs is of the highest priority,” said Jay Reed, Chief Information Officer. “Fortunately, Service 1st debit cards come standard with EMV Chip technology.”

ATMs (Automated Teller Machines) are available at Service 1st locations across northeastern and central PA, and ITMs (Interactive Teller Machines) are currently available at the Service 1st Corporate Center in Danville and at the new Muncy Office.

You can learn more about the new ITMs by clicking here.
