(Danville, PA) – The Service 1st Federal Credit Union rubber duckies are getting ready for their Annual Charity Duck Derby scheduled for Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 12:00 noon on the Danville/Riverside Bridge in Danville. Don’t miss your chance to sponsor a duckie, or a flock of rubber duckies, in the big race! Tickets are on sale now through July 31, 2024.

Adults 18 and over are eligible to purchase tickets (one duck for $5 or a flock of five ducks for $20), with no limit on the number of tickets purchased. Tickets are available at all Service 1st branch locations and credit union members may also purchase them through Service 1st online and mobile banking. In addition, tickets will be available during Danville’s 38th Annual Spring Fling on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Service 1st stand will be located at 437/439 Mill St., Danville, across the street from D's Clothier.

During the Duck Derby, thousands of rubber ducks will be dropped into the Susquehanna River, beginning their race to the finish line. The ticket holder whose number matches the first duck to cross the finish line will win $500, with additional $100 prizes for the second- through fifth-place winners. The ticket holder whose number matches the last duck to finish the race will also receive a special prize.

Funds raised from this year’s Derby will be combined with those raised during Service 1st’s 30th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, being held on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Frosty Valley Resort in Danville. The proceeds from these events will benefit Eos Therapeutic Riding Center, Bloomsburg, and Thomas Beaver Free Library, Danville.
